About Justine

As you'll note from the pictures below, Justine spent most of 2017 outside.

She continued working for ETC, organizing and leading kayak trips for disabled adults
and underprivileged youth. She enjoys this tremendously and is really good at it.

These kayak trips usually started from Sausalito or Tomales Bay
(both north of the GG bridge) and most involve overnight camping.

These trips involve lots of prep (all the food, all the gear, scheduling, staff assignments,
weather monitoring, etc), plus kayak skills training, safety talks, rescues, boat retrievals,
emergency repairs, constant surprises, lots of fun, and plenty of exhaustion.

(we're not quite sure what's wrong with her tongue)

She went ice climbing with friends in Colorado

Her friends gave her a Wonder Woman cape
She and her boss won a kayak race around Angel Island

She and another friend kayak-camped
around Lake Tahoe (65 miles!) in 3 days
Fun with old friends throughout the year

Way high on the list of good times: a book and
some wine on an empty beach near her apartment.

Sprained her ankle for the first time EVER
while attempting a solo crossing of the
Sierras near Mt Whitney with a heavy pack.
Good thing she's a certified WFR...

Who bikes to the beach in a dress?!?

  But never been to Disneyland.
